Stanisic's Header Earns Leverkusen A Point
Borussia Dortmund played out a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Saturday. Gregor Kobel made a number of key saves for Dortmund, while Josip Stanisic's header earned Leverkusen a point.
Dortmund started the game brightly and had the better of the early chances. However, Leverkusen grew into the game and took the lead in the 38th minute when Stanisic headed home from a corner.
Dortmund levelled the scores just before half-time when Jude Bellingham fired home from the edge of the area. The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to win the game.
However, neither side could find a winner and the game ended in a draw. The result leaves Dortmund in second place in the Bundesliga, two points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Leverkusen are in sixth place, six points off the top.
